5.0 out of 5 stars It made me laugh - a lot. Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2024 What a brilliant book! Not what I expected but better. The misadventures of a sarcastic, almost to a fault, but very likable park ranger turned cryptid hunter. There’s a ton of action and a whole lot of reasons to envy the main character and there are several other characters that are either very likable or trying their hardest to kill him. Sometimes both! A great read even though the author ends on a major cliffhanger but then softens the drop by including a chapter or two of the next book but then ends that with another cliff, albeit smaller to soften the fall. Something tells me that the author and the main character may be very similar but that isn’t a bad thing. Hopefully the next book will be here soon because I am genuinely curious about the characters’ future trials. I fully recommend you read this story. I stayed up all night to finish it in one reading. I have gotten a little bored with the genre and haven’t read more than halfway through on dozens of books lately so saying I read this all the way through is a good thing and in one reading is a great thing. I enjoyed this as much as D.A. Roberts’ books which is a huge compliment to this author. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
